The I&I Foundation’s fundamental action is the commissioner of new works as well as an underwriter of new commissions. This would not be possible without the generous help of donors. We would like to whole-heartedly thank them for their belief in our goals and our shared vision for the future for contemporary music. The I&I Foundation’s close collaborations with promoters, festival partners and Foundations also greatly help towards the commissioning of new works from up-and-coming composers and to provide opportunities for performances.

Lucerne Festival
Lucerne Festival is one of the leading international festivals in the world of classical music. Lucerne Festival was founded in 1938; since 1999, Michael Haefliger has been its Executive and Artistic Director.
Isaac Dreyfus-Bernheim Foundation
The Isaac Dreyfus-Bernheim Foundation (on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Dreyfus Sons & Co. Ltd, Banquiers) was established in 2013.
The aim was to combine the already existing considerable philanthropic commitment of the owner families and the bank in a foundation close to the house, so that the Foundation Board can devote itself to charitable activities in a comprehensive, focused and independent manner. To make this possible, a substantial contribution from the Bank is transferred to the Isaac Dreyfus-Bernheim Foundation annually.

Not only do they have to practice most of their waking hours (although I know this is one of the parts of their job that they enjoy most), but they have to do their own marketing, make their own travel arrangements, deal with jet lag, sleep deprivation and a myriad of other discomforts. I have always been involved in looking for and then supporting young talent and the pleasure I get from ‘discovering’ someone at an early age and then following their performances and success is a very rewarding experience. Ilya has been special in that he and his whole family stayed with me in Verbier at the beginning of his career. I have watched his development and enjoyed his performances in many places and feel a very strong bond with his whole family. Thank you for helping him in this terrible time for musicians.
